Calamities after calamities happened in just a matter of one month. Typhoon Pepeng has left many people lifeless, homeless or displaced in the northern part of the country. The prices of agriculture supplies and crops including horse supplies have doubled up since the roads to and from the production site have been closed.
I am hoping that we manage to get over this in God’s grace.

My classmate in college has written this on a styro cup and he gave it to me during our overnight group study sessions.
Since then, I have not forgotten the phrase. I was actually inspired to watch the movie because of it.
The HR has finally approved my immediate resignation and the Program Manager has signed my resignation.
I feel so happy not just because I finally got the nerve to pull the plug but because I am now off to doing the thing that I really love fulltime…and get paid. Well, the pay is just enough to get me to the hospital everyday to have lunch money to buy me decent meal when on duty.
Sure, thinking about my health maintenance is always there, but I have two good reasons not thinking twice about my decision:

1. God is with me and He will take care of me
2. If it is really the end of the line for me, at least I will be dying with a smile on my face.

I am really excited.

Remember the rants I have written about “someone” who has kept me in the dark for almost two years?
It was metaphorically written, I must confess. You see I do not want to preempt things and whether it is true or not, I believe that talking about major things in your life will turn it into a jinx.
That “someone” I refer to is the HR Department of the Philippine Heart Center.
I took my qualifying exam in October 2007 and after constant follow on call and visits, our batch was scheduled for series of interviews. HR panel interview was in July 2007. After that, we were informed that we will then be called for the panel interview by the Nursing Service Department. After a month or so, I got a notice that I was up for an interview in August. I breezed through the panel, so I thought and in the last week of August, I was scheduled for the final interview with the head of Nursing Service Dept.
The result was out in the early week of September and I was really thankful to the Lord that He let me in!
The instruction that I have got is do not resign yet from work as there are still no vacancies. So I did until this morning. I got a text from the Nursing Office and I am being asked to resign effective immediately as I am invited to join the 6-month nurse apprenticeship program that will start on October 12th. I am not yet hired but I was told that while awaiting an available slot in the hospital, I can join the apprenticeship program. I can decline and a slot for a nurse position is still reserved for me even so but

It has been five days since we have been hit by Ondoy. People are still trying to clean up the mess the onslaught has brought. There were belongings that have been salvaged but many have gone to waste and they are calling upon moving companies San Francisco to help them in disposing of the by-product of this disastrous event.

We have just been hardly hit by Ondoy’s onslaught. And as we are all trying to stand up from where we fell, Ketsana (Ondoy’s international name) has caused some devastation in Vietnam and Cambodia.
Seriously, as I know that we are regarded as America’s ally, they are the first ones, who come to rescue us in times of catastrophe. But with the most recent turn of event, when the Islands of Samoa and American Samoa, a US territory have been washed out by 4 20-foot walls of waves, I do not think they could spare us some aide.
There was an approximately 8 to 8.5 magnitude of earthquake originated from the southern part of the Pacific Ocean 6:48 a.m. local time (1:48 p.m. EDT; 1748 GMT) and it created tsunamis hitting the Samoas and flattened out the villages near the coastline.
Warnings of further tsunami occurrences have been sent to Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand and Japan — the countries around the Pacific Ocean.
In less than 24 hours after, another strong underwater seismic event rocked western part of Indonesia, enough to trigger tsunami alert for countries along the Indian Ocean. The earthquake clocked at 7.6-magnitude on the Richter scale which was strong enough to topple buildings, cut out electric power supply and caused a landslide in Sumatra. The landslide has claimed at least 75 lives.
These series of events is really getting into me, making me ask, is the end of world about to come?
My thought might be weird but it might be true. One disaster after another.
As it was written in the Bible, He will come like a thief in the night. We must be prepared.
