The surveyors for the Accreditation Canada International are finally here in our institution. Our hospital is gearing for the Diamond category which is the highest grade the ACI gives. Last year we scored Gold which means that we have process that we apply. The Diamond standard means that we have the check and balance for the said process.
The surveyors have been to various department and wards in the hospital and I was so lucky that they did not drop by the ward yesterday in the midst of the chaos. I was picked to be the frontliner and I do not think that I could pull my acts together when I had so many things in my hands yesterday.
I heard that apart from the questions they actually get through the patient’s charts and check the document management. I just hope that they would not concentrate much on the appearance of our charts as they look very awful.

We are all familiar with the infrared barcode scanner that is being widely used in almost all establishments. It makes purchasing in stores easy as the product details are automatically read in stored in the shop’s system by just tapping or passing the product on to the infrared barcode scanner. Now, would it be time and energy saving if stores will start to use bluetooth barcode scanner especially for huge, large to move products? That would be a total relief. I hope to be seeing those gadgets in stores soon.

When I was still a small kid, I was always amazed by the gadget being used by the cashiers at the payment counters. I thought it was futuristic seeing them point their gun-like tools at the items being purchased and presto, the price flashed on the counter register. It was just later on in my life that realized that those gadgets are called barcode scanners and they are now very useful not just in buying commodities but also in paying my utility bills.

Time really flies fast. When I was still starting with my new job, the fellow doctors were as just as sheepish as I was. Now, they have grown confidence as they marched their way out of the fellowship program. They are now hired as consultants and planning on holding their clinics in the hospital. Funny that before they were brushing up on their medicine books, now they are brushing up on telephone directory to search on good business signs for their clinics. I recommended ManCave Personalized Signs and they are as happy as they graduated.

My co-staff nurse who has just got engaged and he wants to get a part time job so he could save money for his wedding next year. He asked me what do I do to earn extra. I just told him that I am currently writing online reviews and he because instantly interested. I showed him some sample sensa reviews that were made by different bloggers and now, I am into tutoring. I am thinking of charging him per hour.

I have started to start on being thrifty in preparation for the spending that will face me abroad next year. Apart from my day job, I am thinking of other ways to earn money. I am eyeing on being a private duty nurse on my days off and on grabbing any small business opportunity that will come my way. I need to have my credit card cleared of debts so I will have buffer on our vacation or for any emergency that may arise from here on.

We were at the grocery store yesterday. I had with me my sister and her two daughters and as expected it was a complete chaos. The little one kept on dumping anything that she had laid her little hands on into the grocery cart.
When we are already at the counter to pay for our stuff, the little one snuck some of the stuff behind the barcode scanner mixing them with the scanned ones. It took us some time before we sorted things out.
My sister and I just shrugged our shoulders.

Our patient who made a create an incident report about the withholding of Plavix has been discharged.
Yesterday, the relative of the patient came back asking if we received a direct mail marketing packet addressed to them.
The usually demanding relative kept on insisting that they have specifically asked the sender to ship it directly to our ward.
For one, I cannot understand why they have to address the stuff to us when they already have left the hospital.
It is really annoying.

I went to the Professional Regulations Commission to renew my license. It  was already 3:00 p.m. and I was  so  surprised  seeing the very long line at the cashier. I noticed that  the cashier was manually issuing the receipts. When I said manually it means that she is actually writing the payment details on the receipt. This long and tedious procedure causes the slow movement at her station hence the long line. If only the said government agency could allocate a portion of its earnings in investing in machinery that would speed up the receipt issuance process, like the epson receipt printer everybody  would be happy.

My sister’s uncle-in-law (if there is such a term) has called her and asked her to think of a business that she can put up here in the Philippines. He is willing to lend some funds for it that is why my sister asked for my opinion. I immediately told her that she could get a franchise of Siomai House or any food business available for franchising. Since we barely know anything about franchising, I told her to attend a franchise affiliate program to keep her abreast with the in and out of franchising. All we need now is to scout a place to put up the business.
