We were sent to our Makati main office today  for some work immersion.

I was excited not because of it but because I have the reason to go to Gold’s Gym in Glorietta afterwards.  It’s Friday, it means it’s Yogilates day!

I felt so stretched out.  The routines are not as easy as they look when they are being performed by the instructor.  But it’s all worth it.  This is the class that does not require leg work (yeah, my feet are still swelling) but yet again, it focuses on strengthening your core while releasing your body tensions.

The challenging routines although make your muscle shake really do not cause soreness. You can just feel some muscles have been work out or stretched, so to speak, but it is not painful.

I wish I could do yoga everyday.  It’s really invigorating especially when you have a sauna bath afterwards.

I have decided to head for the gym before reporting for work at 11:00 a.m. My pedal edema is on remission. Maybe because I limited my fluid intake to 500 ml per day and yesterday, I only took in a measly 300 ml.

Gold’s Gym is more accessible from home but what I forgot is that it was rush hour when I went out. Bus rides to the gym were all filled up with passengers and it took me 30 minutes before getting on a bus with still unfilled seats.  It was past 8:00 a.m. already and I arrived at the gym ten minutes before 9:00.

I immediately started on working out  and did my core exercises. I have been skipping the treadmill because it gives me nerve pains and I cannot standing brisk walking for over 5 minutes.  I concluded my workout with my period of serenity – the sauna bath. It really felt refreshing.

Oh, I was only 3 minutes late for work. I punched it at 11:03 a.m.

It’s been almost a week since I last hit the gym. I passed from Thursday to Saturday because I had my monthly period. It’s uncomfortable for me doing gym routines when I have my period.

Another thing, my feet have yet again become swollen. I noticed that Aldactone alone does not help make me urinate frequently.

I am supposed to have my lab work up today and to see my nephrologist tomorrow but my monthly period prevented me from submitting myself for the workup ergo my appointment was cancelled and was moved to May 4th. May 1st is Labor Day and the doctor won’t hold a clinic then.

Boohoo!

So I phoned my ever reliable doctor yesterday and consulted my bloated feet. He said that I should take Burinex again together with Aldactone. It’s really effective because I flushed tremendous amount of liquid through my urine within 2 hours of intake of the combo.

When I woke up this morning, my feet were still swelling so I told myself, I will go to the gym anyway but I will just do abdominal work out and so I did.

Since I ran so many errands (I went to see another doctor for my back pain and an orthodontist and I had a panoramic orthodontic x-ray) before I hit the gym, I felt so hungry. I fear that I will be hypoglycemic so I decided to chow down. Grilled Blue Marlin at the foodcourt which I did not enjoy by the way.

Full meal before working out? Works for me! I was able to do 100 crunches and so many crunches more using different ab workout machines including the gym ball! As promised, I skipped the treadmill but I hit the sauna which is my favorite part of my gym trips.

As I hit the shower, I was surprised to see that my feet are not swollen anymore.

God, I pray that this will last.
